Coffee Fail AI Video: Make the Cofi Trend

One video, many names

The original clips share the exact same set-up: a low countertop camera, a red mug in the middle, a jar of instant coffee and a kettle. Creators then swap in different faces, which is why some versions star celebrities (the “celebrity kitchen” name), some star couples (“couple coffee”) and some just call it the coffee fail. On TikTok, many of them are tagged with “cofi”.

You may also see versions with dogs or cats behind the counter. Those are the same joke with pets; this page and our generator are about the two-person version.

Why the coffee fail is funny

Nobody is clumsy. Each person keeps moving the mug away from exactly where the other one is aiming, so every scoop of coffee lands on the bare counter. The one with the spoon gets more and more smug; the other stays bored and unimpressed. At the end the milk goes straight onto the counter while the mug is in the wrong hand, and the shrug sells it.

The straight faces are the whole joke. Versions where people laugh, or where the mug never moves, fall flat.
